David Kozma has resided in Colorado for 39 years and has practiced law for 30 years. He received a Bachelor of Science degree in biology from Wayne State University in Detroit, Michigan, and was recruited out of college to teach secondary science in the Jefferson County Public Schools here in Colorado. While a teacher he was also a member of the National Ski Patrol.
After teaching for five years he enrolled in law school and attended Gonzaga University where he was president of a legal fraternity and a member of Gonzaga law school’s National Moot Court team – an intercollegiate advocacy competition. It was because of his advocacy skills that he was awarded a membership in the Order of Barristers – a national award that recognizes law students who excel in advocacy competitions.
After graduation Mr. Kozma worked as an associate for a small personal injury law firm and also worked for a small law firm specializing in commercial litigation. He then opened his own law firm in 1989 and has practiced and maintained an office in downtown Denver since that time. Mr. Kozma is admitted to practice in all the Colorado state courts as well as the United States District Court and the United States Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals.
